The Kuwaiti Camel Racing Club

The Kuwaiti Camel Racing Club

The Kuwaiti Camel Racing Club is an institution established in 1992. The club performs a similar role to federations in other countries, with one of its key responsibilities being the supervision of camel racing and the development of the youth’s skills in this field.

The club is dedicated to enabling camel racing to transcend local boundaries and become an attractive sport not only for residents in Kuwait but also on the international stage. The club’s successes are reflected in its establishment of similar clubs in European countries such as Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, and others. This significant expansion is thanks to the pioneering role played by the club’s management, especially in leading the Arab Camel Racing Federation.

The desire to organize camel races dates back to the 1980s, thanks to the directives of His Highness the late Amir, Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah – may he rest in peace – who emphasized the importance of preserving this rich cultural and historical heritage. Camel racing, with its values and history, reflects an important aspect of the history of the Arabian Peninsula.
