International Center for Camel Research and Studies

The International Center for Camel Research and Studies is an institution affiliated with the International Camel Organization, a non-profit organization aimed at the development and service of all aspects related to camels as heritage and sports. The center is located in the Saudi Arabian capital, Riyadh, and it houses experts in the field of camels and their documentation. The center aims to develop and disseminate scientific research and studies on all aspects related to camels, including the study of the “camel genome,” and the construction of electronic databases for it, especially considering that the camel genome is approximately 2.38 gigabytes in size, containing more than 20,000 genes. Some specialized scientific studies suggest that the unusual genetic composition of camels is the primary reason for their ability to thrive in harsh environmental conditions.

Furthermore, the center aims to improve understanding of various aspects of camel husbandry, including nutrition, reproduction, diseases, and more. The center also seeks to enhance international cooperation in this field and exchange expertise and knowledge.

The center aims to achieve sustainable development for the camel sector and breeders, preserve all documents, regulate registration, and conduct and implement camel research and studies in accordance with the regulations, instructions, and strategies adopted by the center.

The International Center for Camel Research and Studies is considered a global platform for promoting scientific research and collaboration in the field of camels. With its commitment to excellence and innovation, the center seeks to make sustainable progress in this field and provide valuable contributions to both the scientific and economic communities.
