Lying the lie of a camel

Lying the lie of a camel

“Kadhaab kadhib al’iibil” is a saying that originates from the Bedouins as they used to roam the desert with their camels for long hours during the day. Suddenly, the camels would move their mouths and lips left and right, as if they were eating something. The herders would then think that the camels had found some edible plants or anything to eat in the middle of the desert, only to discover that they were just moving their lips. They coined this act “the lie of the camels,” meaning the deception of others with something that is not true. This saying is used to describe someone who tells lies or deceives in a manner that is easily discovered as false, just like the camels’ actions.
