Camel polo

Camel polo

Camel polo is a qualitatively modern sport. Camel polo is based on a rider riding a trained horse and holding a long wooden stick that he uses to hit a wooden ball in the ground, while other riders compete with him in the match according to specific rules. Camel polo is not much different from horse polo except by replacing the horse with a camel only. Camel polo also derives its laws from the ancient game of horse polo, which is spread in several countries of the world. Camel polo is widespread in some Gulf countries such as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, in addition to Asian countries such as Mongolia, as well as many African and Western countries. The sponsor of camel polo is the International Camel Polo Federation, which manages the game worldwide, and was established by the International Camel Organization in January 2020, and is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Federation was established during the Constituent General Assembly of the International Camel Polo Federation, with the participation of 29 countries. During the meeting, and after the vote of the participating countries, it was announced that HE Sheikh Fahd bin Falah bin Hathleen was recommended as President of the Union for a period of 4 years.
