Katie Higgins is a 29-year-old artist from Cairlistran in County Galway, Ireland. Higgins revolutionized camel racing by joining the UAE’s first female camel racing team.

Higgins rose to become a landmark in UAE history when she competed in the first licensed race of the Women’s Camel Championship at Al Marmoom Racecourse. Since then, she has shown her skills and competed in four races, becoming the first Irish woman to participate in camel racing.
