“La fi aleir wala fi alnafir” is a saying from the Qurayshi Arab tradition regarding camels. It is used as a metaphor for a person who is looked down upon because they have little to offer or contribute. In this context, “Al-Ayr” refers to the camels of the Quraysh tribe used for trade, which the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, set out to take. “An-Nafeer” refers to the Battle of Badr. So, anyone who did not participate in both the trading of camels and the Battle of Badr from the people of Mecca was considered insignificant and looked down upon by their community.
